Spartanburg Charter School's Principal, Dr. John von Rohr, earned his doctoral degree in Educational Administration & Supervision at Fordham University in New York. He also has two Masters Degrees, one in Counseling Psychology, the other in Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Education.  Dr. von Rohr is a graduate of several post-graduate courses at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Center for School for Leadership Development, where he is a Fellow.  His completed course work includes training for "Future Superintendents," "Experienced Principals," "Leadership of Charter Schools" and "Principals as Technology Leaders."  In late 2010, he attended Harvard University for their course titled "Charter Schools: Practices for High Performance."  In the past twenty years, schools under Dr. von Rohr's leadership have consistently reached higher and higher levels of academic achievement, resulting in him being featured in a 2004 book noting twelve high achieving charter school Principals in the United States. His personal goal is for Spartanburg Charter School to be identified as the best public charter school in the State of South Carolina.  Dr. von  Rohr lives in Spartanburg and has sons and four grandchildren.
